Part-time after school nanny needed for friendly Clapham family starting September 2013. : Battersea, London

We are looking for an after school nanny to look after our little girl (Beth, 7) and little boy (Fred, 5) on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays after school – from 3.30pm to 7.00pm. Role: Our little ones are bubbly, bright and always busy. We are looking for someone to look after them after school, do lots of fun and educational things with them (drawing, painting, crafts, cooking, puzzles, stories etc.), collect from, and if necessary take to, after school activities, supervise homework and playdates, take them to the park/common, library etc. and of course provide regular cuddles. You will have sole charge of the children and would be expected to collect them from school, give them tea and a bath in the evening and get them ready for bed (but not put them to bed). We are looking for someone who can prepare fresh meals for the children and clear up the kitchen afterwards and who will tidy up with the children at the end of the day. We have a cleaner once a week who cleans the house. Working Pattern: Days required would be Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3.30pm to 7.00pm. Occasional babysitting also possible – with extra hourly pay. Ideally you would have the flexibility to occasionally (once or twice a school term) vary your working days and to work some full days during the school holidays – we would work out the details on a case by case basis. Location: We live just off Clapham Common (2 mins), 5 mins from a playground and 10mins from the bandstand. Clapham Common tube and Clapham Junction are both 15 mins away. 35/37 bus routes are 3 mins away and 156/77/87/345 c 5 mins away. We are a 20 minute walk from Beth and Fred’s school which is near to Clapham Common tube. You: We are looking for someone who loves children, is energetic, caring, honest, reliable and punctual, who has excellent English (both spoken and written, ideally as a first language) and who has previous experience of childcare. You should be a non-smoker. Checkable references are essential. You must be CRB checked and have a valid paediatric first aid certificate. We are happy to pay the going rate for the right person, dependent on experience. If you are interested and feel you are the right person for the job please contact me with your CV, references and an indication of (gross) salary expectations. We look forward to hearing from you.
